FAQs
What file type and information is best for quoting?
A dimensioned PDF drawing would be best for quoting. The file should include a completed Title Block. The Title Block records all important information necessary for the drawing. It contains general as well as specific information such as material type, thicknesses, tolerances, finish, etc. Dimensioned PDF files are best for quoting, as STEP and Solidworks files do not have Title Blocks.
What file type is best for cutting?
DXF files are best for cutting flat pieces, 3D CAD files are best for cutting pieces that need forming after cutting, and for pipe and tube cutting. DXF and STEP files are easily converted for CNC cutting.
